#BASQUE DAIRY: TRADITION INSPIRING INNOVATION

Welcome to the 16th European Farmhouse and Artisan Cheese & Dairy Meeting, a unique annual gathering that, for the first time, will take place in the Basque Country. We are delighted to hold this edition in a region where the dairy sector is not merely an economic activity, but a cultural legacy deeply embedded in its landscape, its people and its way of life.

Under the theme “Basque Dairy: Tradition Inspiring Innovation”, this year’s congress invites participants to explore how a sector rooted in centuries old know-how continues to evolve, adapt and innovate while remaining faithful to its origins. The Basque dairy tradition has successfully embraced technological progress while proudly preserving the values and practices that make it distinctive — and this meeting will be a living reflection of that balance.

Over the course of three days, attendees will be immersed in a rich programme of lectures, presentations and specialised working groups focused on cheese and dairy technology. From practical insights to emerging research, from real-life case studies to discussions on new tools and methodologies, the congress will offer a comprehensive overview of the present and future of artisan and farmhouse dairy production.
